Top Northern VA Plumber Helps Raise Awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease
Manassas, Virginia — June 22, 2015
My Plumber Heating and Cooling has long been known as the top plumbing and HVAC Service Company in the northern Virginia area, and indeed, the entire Washington DC metropolitan geography. But My Plumber Heating and Cooling is more than just a home service company. They are deeply involved in philanthropic activities that help not only the people of the DC area, but across the entire country.
In light of Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, My Plumber Heating and Cooling is proud to announce the launch of their most recent cause marketing campaign; Purple with a Purpose. The My Plumber Heating and Cooling team will not only have a “casual for the cause” day, where the entire office will be wearing purple, but are proud to also be rolling out seven (7) brand new vehicles with special full-wraps to help promote Alzheimer’s Awareness. The vehicles are adorned with information about the cause and the special purple ribbons.
Alzheimer’s affects so many people; every 67 seconds, someone in the United States develops the disease. My Plumber Heating and Cooling decided to act. “This disease is something that many people in our service area deal with. Raising awareness for the disease, treatments and especially for the dedicated caregivers is the least we can do,” said Mark Presgrave, VP of My Plumber Heating and Cooling. “We’re always looking for ways to help improve the community we service.”
All seven of their specially wrapped trucks have been deployed and My Plumber Heating and Cooling will be making several donations to numerous Alzheimer’s organizations in both Virginia and Maryland throughout the year.
About the Alzheimer’s Association
In 1979, Jerome H. Stone and representatives from several family support groups met with the National Institute on Aging to explore the value of a national, independent, nonprofit organization to complement federal efforts surrounding Alzheimer’s disease. That meeting resulted in the April 10, 1980, formation of the Alzheimer’s Association with Mr. Stone as founding president.
Today, the Association reaches millions of people affected by Alzheimer’s across the globe through their national office and chapters in communities nationwide. They are the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
